Here's what lil girl and i have been cruising around town in lately. Let me tell you, she has quite the personality.
My first car was given to me by my uncle when i was 16. He was a 1991 electric blue ford escort, and i loved him dearly. his name was vinny, after my cousin vinny (the movie. i don't actually have a cousin named vinny.) the gas gage, heater, air conditioner, and cd player didn't work, but that just added to his charm. even after running out of gas 3 times. and the little magician could do tricks! one time, i drove to school and when i went to turn my car off there were no keys in the ignition. i couldn't find them anywhere! so i pretty much had no way of turning off my car. obviously i was VERY confused. it turned out that the keys were in my pocket the whole time. don't ask me how they got there. it was magic, duh.
I loved that car so much, i just couldn't part with him after 8 years. but the little engine that could just couldn't anymore. so he sat in the car port until my uncle offered to fix him up so that i could sell him. but the idea of handing him over to a stranger just killed me! Luckily, my aunt ended up needing a car in a hurry so i handed over the keys, so relieved that he was going to stay in the family. I even refused to accept money for him. I just wanted him to have a good home.
As you can see, i tend to become very attached to nonliving things.
Look at my little princess with face in the wind. she's sooo happy, which makes me sooo happy.
I couldn't name my new car until i got to know her a little better. when i realized how cool she was, i decided that she deserved a name fit for a badass chick. I thought, who better to name her after than marisa tomei's character in my cousin vinny? Her name is Mona Lisa and she's like, the coolest girl ever, and knows everything about cars. So I stuck with the my cousin vinny theme and named her mona.
Isn't she perfect?
